From the Superintendent's desk:
We are honored to announce Mrs. Nicole Cody as the principal of Thomas Edison Elementary School. She has served in the Burbank Unified School District since 2015 and is highly dedicated to student learning and the community.
Mrs. Cody brings a great deal of experience to her role. She started her career in education as an elementary classroom teacher and became a curriculum specialist at the elementary level. Later, she served as an assistant principal at the middle school level. Finally, during the 2023-2024 school year, Mrs. Cody served as an assistant principal at John Burroughs High School. She holds master's degrees in Education Curriculum and Instruction from San Diego State University and Administration from California State University, Los Angeles.
Nicole grew up in the San Fernando Valley, attending LAUSD schools and graduating from Birmingham High School. When Nicole is not working, she enjoys traveling and being outdoors with her son and husband.
Nicole Cody has developed as a leader from within Burbank Unified, and as Superintendent, it gives me pride to promote her to this critical role. She is a strong leader who will significantly benefit the Edison school community.
While we will miss Mrs. Flosi's presence at Edison, we welcome Ms. Cody as our new principal.
We can't wait to work with Ms. Cody as parent and caregiver volunteers this coming school year. Maybe she'll join in a trike race or help greet our students during Safe Delivery!
